What is a Harvey Wallbanger? Well actually Harvey Wallbanger was a cartoon that was rather dopy looking who had an extremely small following.

Bob Dorf was asked to create a market for Gilliano in the 70s. The funds they had were inadequate to create demand traditional ways. Unlike most of the poorly targeted ads back in the day, he found a clever way to market Gilliano.

He simply added Gilliano to the screwdriver and called it the Harvey Wallbanger. He then proceeded to make Harvey Wallbanger T shirts and have select people loudly order the Harvey Wallbanger at popular establishments.

In no time the drink caught on and Harvey Wallbanger was a huge success. The drink was such a success that without knowing what it was I achieved the nickname Harvey Wallbanger.

Me and Harvey: on my submarine USS DALLAS (SSN 700) I was quite the lush and my last name was (or still is) Wall. Combining these two made it rather easy to go with the nick Harvey Wallbanger.

Make a Havey Wallbanger:

1 & 1/4 oz of Vodka
Splash of Galliano
Orange juice

Pour vodka & orange juice on ice in a Collins glass. Top with a splash of Galliano
