It is funny how words can have no meaning for so long, and when people tell you them they have meaning that if it exists is not transfered, and then to meet people who change your worldview and outlook on life so much that formerly meaningless words suddenly have lots of meaning.

My guess is that you are finally feeling something (positive?) for once in your life and you are trying to rationalize these feelings by associating them with existing words.
It is not that the words suddenly gained meaning. They always had it. You just did not have the experience to understand what the meaning truely meant.
