Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. Lies and Cheats, Causes More Deaths to Increase Profits
From MarketWatch:
Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. agreed to plead guilty and pay a $1 million criminal fine for lying to the federal government about a patent deal involving its blood thinner Plavix, the Department of Justice said on Wednesday. The department said that illegal actions by Bristol-Myers "threatened to reduce competition for the drug Plavix that could have reduced the cost of blood-thinning drugs sold to heart attack, stroke and other patients." Bristol-Myers agreed to plead guilty to two violations of the federal False Statements Act, the government noted. The deal reached with the antitrust division of the DOJ resolved a previously disclosed criminal investigation regarding the proposed settlement between Bristol-Myers and its product partner, Sanofi-Aventis, Apotex Inc., and Apotex Corp.Posted at May 30, 2007 3:59 PM

I love hearing stuff like this. Big business puts together all these ooey gooey feel good commercials yet gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar time and time again. Sad, very sad.
